All new for 2007! The Infiniti Epic began on track development in June 2005. The year-plus development cycle has net us our most ambitious design to date. The Epic is a departure from design characteristics seen in most chassis available today.
At first glance you might overlook the "pin located" axle assembly that has significantly reduced key sizes, with cross drilled aluminum keys, not to mention that it is made of a material NOT used in our competitions offerings. Some may not notice the kart has three different frame rail diameters. Did we mention the use of stainless steel hardware? There are plenty of things that do catch the eye.
The axle hanger and corresponding cassettes differ from others in the fact that only one bolt per side releases the entire assembly for easy maintenance. The mechanism has evolved from designs used in early development to the "pac-man" or "clamshell" designs seen here. The chassis pictured is an SE model and does not contain the "Sikorski" bearing found in the PE model. The seat slide mounts are equally convenient. One top-mounted bolt allows for movement left to right as well as fore and aft. Simply turn the socket head cap screw half turn out to move the seat front to rear. Another half turn will allow left to right movement.
The design is similar to others on the market. With that said, keep this in mind; "never be afraid to take a good idea and IMPROVE it". It has been a long time coming and will be well worth your wait. Thank you for your time, and enjoy the pictures.
